Adam Hatfield took to his home circuit at Snetterton for the second time this year in the GT Cup championship this time driving the number 72 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 car solo for the first time this season. Qualifying delivered a great start to the weekend with Adam putting the car on pole position, but a poor start in the race cost him the win and he had to settle for second place.
" Qualifying was really good for me and the team, I knew Phil and the Marlin Hawk Racing guys would push us all the way so I knew I had to deliver the lap early and thankfully I did that and got the best out of the tyres. Unfortunately a poor start from me and a good start for the Ginetta G55 cost me the lead of the race, although i gave it everything I had, it just wasn't quite enough to regain the lead but thats racing, second place is still a good result and good championship points"
Sunday was a near perfect day for the number 72 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 car, with Adam taking pole position, race win in the 50 minute endurance race as well as fastest lap!
" I think this was the best I've driven all year, the car felt great in qualifying and thats the fastest I've lapped the Snetterton 300 circuit all year so that I am very pleased with. Then the race was all about management really, just getting a good start and not making any mistakes and thankfully it all came together in the end."
The next round of GT Cup is from the Donington Park GP Circuit on the 8th/9th of September.
