Adam Hatfield and Darron Lewis kicked off there 2018 title challenge on the class 3 Britcar Endurance championship at Rockingham Motor Speedway on the 14th April.
The number 285 Ginetta racked up some respectable results over the weekend qualifying 5th in class, and managing to take two 4th places in class during the 50 minute Sprint race and also the 2 hour endurance race, however race 2 could have delivered so much more.
Adam had this to say following the weekends racing...
"It has been a challenging weekend for the opening Britcar endurance round, lack of Ginetta Winter testing certainly hindered our results and made it difficult too hit the ground running struggling with feel through the brake pedal.
However it certainly started to come back to me through the weekend with a solid 4th place in Race 1 which is all good points towards the championship, however race 2 was so much better pace wise, we had managed to build an healthy gap in 3rd place but unfortunately contact with another car robbed us of a class podium, and resulted in damage to the number 285 Ginetta which then lead to a fire in the pits! Darren however put in a stunning performance to salvage another 4th in class.
All things considered I think we did ok and salvaged what we could, I think both mine and Darrons pace in race 2 certainly shows what we can do going forward, big thanks to my sponsors Chase Timber Products LTD, Ellpro Timber, Homepack and Hugh J Boswell"
Round 2 of Britcar comes from the Silverstone GP Circuit on the 5th of May.
